Born in Almaty, Kazakhstan to a family of cinephiles, Alisher nurtured a deep appreciation for a diverse range of cinema from an early age. He spent his formative years crafting short films with friends, a hobby that grew more pronounced after relocating to Vancouver in his teens. Driven by his passion, he ventured to Los Angeles to study Film and Television Production at the renowned USC School of Cinematic Arts. A standout achievement from this period was his thesis film, The Chess Match, which earned accolades at various international festivals. After obtaining his BFA, Alisher returned to Vancouver to work in the city's bustling film industry. In 2023, he took the leap to found Divided Attention, aiming to produce and develop independent projects that foster collaborations with up-and-coming filmmakers. When he's not on set, Alisher can be found exploring the landscapes of Beautiful British Columbia, crafting electronic music, or camping in a rush line at your favourite film festival.
